MEDITERRANEAN GEMS – Cruise with MSC ORCHESTRA

September 29 – October 7

 (FULLY BOOKED)

Welcome to a Mediterranean cruise with MSC ORCHESTRA – a week filled with Italian charm, French elegance, and Spanish warmth. We will enjoy comfort, good food, and new experiences every day. The trip begins with a night in Genoa with a group dinner before we board the ship. Then we will make stops in Marseille, Tarragona, Valencia, and Florence, among other places – all under the safe guidance of our tour leader from Skellefteå.

DAY 1 – September 29, Departure from Skellefteå

We leave Skellefteå early in the morning and fly via Arlanda to Milan International Airport. Upon arrival, we are met by our bus, which takes us to our centrally located hotel in Genoa, close to the beach promenade. In the evening, we gather for a communal Italian dinner and toast to what lies ahead – a week filled with experiences, flavors, and camaraderie. [ M ]

DAY 2 – 9/30, Boarding the MSC Orchestra

Today we will experience Genoa, a lively city full of character and history – a city that offers more soul than any other coastal town in Liguria. In the medieval city center, narrow alleys wind between stately palaces from the 16th and 17th centuries, now filled with art and culture. In the afternoon, our transfer will take us to the MSC ORCHESTRA, which will take us on a journey through the coastal gems of three countries. You will have plenty of time to explore the ship's facilities – perhaps take a dip in the pool, enjoy something tasty from the café, or simply enjoy the view from the deck. [ B, L, D ]

A charming Mediterranean setting with houses and lush greenery – group tours from Skellefteå to the Mediterranean

DAY 3 – October 1, Marseille, (Provence) France

We wake up in Marseille – the city where the scent of the sea meets freshly baked bread and salty winds from the Mediterranean. At the Vieux Port, fish is sold directly from the boats, and in Le Panier, the alleys wind between colorful facades and sunny cafés. From Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, the view spreads out over the city, and the day offers excursions to Aix-en-Provence or Avignon – the heart of Provence. [ F, L, M ]

DAY 4 – October 2, Tarragona, Spain

In Tarragona, Roman arenas, medieval alleys, and sparkling cava await. Along the Costa Daurada, history meets sun-kissed beaches, and the heart of the city offers life, culture, and Catalan warmth. Explore the Roman amphitheater, the cathedral, and the winding streets of the old town. Join us on an excursion to the monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet and the medieval town of Montblanc, or enjoy a cava tasting in Penedès at Bodegas Vilarnau – a day filled with flavor, history, and joy! [ B, L, D ]

DAY 5 – October 3, Valencia, Spain

Valencia offers a fascinating mix of futuristic architecture, historic neighborhoods, and green parks. Cycle through the old riverbed, discover the City of Arts and Sciences, or enjoy the city's charming old town. And of course, taste an authentic Valencian paella, where the dish originated. [ F, L, M ]

DAY 6 – October 4, Full day at sea

A perfect day for relaxation. Settle into a deck chair, treat yourself to a spa treatment, or take part in one of the activities on board. A day at sea provides time for rest, conversation, and perhaps a glass of wine before the evening offers dinner and entertainment in the ship's theater or bars. [ B, L, D ]

DAY 7 – October 5, Livorno, (Florence/Pisa)

We arrive in Tuscany and dock in Livorno. From here, world-class experiences await – join us on a trip to Florence, the jewel of the Renaissance with its art, architecture, and lively piazzas, or take a shorter trip to Pisa and its famous leaning tower. Whichever route you choose, you will encounter Tuscan views, cultural heritage, and authentic Italian charm. [ B, L, D ]

DAY 8 – 6/10, Civitavecchia (Rome)

Civitavecchia is the perfect starting point for discovering Rome, where history, art, and culture meet. From the Colosseum to the Trevi Fountain and Vatican City, Rome has something for everyone. Visit the ancient Colosseum, where gladiators once fought, or enjoy a tour of the Vatican Museums and admire the Sistine Chapel. Civitavecchia itself is a charming port city with impressive sights such as the Michelangelo Fortress and the ancient Taurine Baths, before you continue on to the "Eternal City." [ F, L, M ]

DAY 9 – October 7, Return home

Early in the morning, we are back in Genoa. After breakfast, we disembark and our bus is waiting to transfer us to the airport in Rome. We travel home via Copenhagen and Arlanda, with many new memories in our luggage from an eventful trip along the Mediterranean. [ F ]
